SUMMARY
During these "Piecing the Plan" Roundtables, stories,
ideas, needs, wishes and suggestions were shared, prayed over
and discussed. Our Strategic Ministry Plan was reviewed. The goal?
To help each of us, all of us, to better understand our piece
of His plan. To answer his call to serve.

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION HIGHLIGHTS
* Pray, pray, pray – over, and for, everything we do and
consider!!!
* Try a Friday Night Family Night at FL: for all ages, an opportunity
to simply spend time together over coffee, snacks, games, etc.
* Use FL bumper sticker art to create postcards, complete with
service listings and website address. Use them for multiple purposes.
* Time for an updated member directory?
* Offer a kids craft club, regularly or on special occasions.
* Stewardship committee will become “HR” dept. for
FL, tracking needs and pairing volunteers to meet them. This will
make it easier to know what’s needed, and who’s doing
what.
* With SMP complete and positive change underway, it might be
time to reach out to inactive/lost members and invite them back.
* Update and better utilize member mailboxes.
* Consider: To make it easier for visitors and new members to
feel part of our family, create a permanent nametag for each FL
member, to wear at worship services and events. Provide “Welcome
to our Family” nametags for all visitors to fill out and
wear.
* Create two visible “bulletin boards”: One for posting
information and photos of new members, baptisms, weddings, etc.;
The other for posting photos of FL staff and all committee members.
* Upgrade our church website to include interactive blog or board.
* Shut-ins currently receive worship bulletin – consider
including copy of bi-monthly email prayer circle, as well.
* Continue a weekday Bible study at church with visiting pastor.
* Follow-up and Care Ministry: We need to reach out to and better
assimilate into our family those who walk through our doors! Co-directors
of a “follow-up ministry” would work with a base of
volunteers to follow-up (either via note, phone call and/or visit)
with visitors, as well as with those who are baptized, confirmed
and wed in our church. Additionally, a care ministry would provide
comfort and support to members who are going through any kind
of hardship.
* Would a group of volunteers be willing to fully clean and reorganize
the kitchen, top to bottom? This could include a master list/chart
of where everything is kept, as well as procedures for using certain
items.
* Is there interest in starting a committee to look at the logistics
and preliminaries of building a gym/community center?
* Use our multi-line phone system to better improve communication
among members and committees and the public.
A JOYFUL RESPONSE
You are not obligated to serve, in any way.
Service to God, in its truest sense,
is a natural, reflexive response.
Filled and inspired and awed by God's gift to us,
we can think of no greater way to express our joy
than to give our gifts back.
To Him. To each other. To all.
